Possible incompatibility between gammu and gammu-smsd

if I set the same port on which is connected my 3g usb modem, gammu doesn't
work no more.
it's simply to verify because using gammu-config or editing the config file I
put ttyUSB0 in port parameter and gammu identify correctly find the modem.
then, I edit gammu-smsd file and I put the same port .
I restart the daemon and gammu identify doesn't find any modem.
How can I solve it?

You can not use smsd and Gammu utility at the same time - only one program can work with the device at the time.
